Interim Chancellor Jay Kimbrough and Texas A&M Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Karan L. Watson have announced that N.K. Anand will serve as interim dean of the Dwight Look College of Engineering, acting vice chancellor for engineering and acting director of the Texas Engineering Experiment Station, beginning Sept. 1. He will serve in these roles until the new dean, vice chancellor and director is approved by the Board of Regents and is ready to begin his or her service. The positions are being vacated by G. Kemble Bennett who is stepping down on Aug. 31 after two terms of service. Anand joined the Texas A&M faculty in 1985. He serves as executive associate dean of the Dwight Look College of Engineering and as associate agency director for the Texas Engineering Experiment Station. He is also the James and Ada Forsyth Professor of Mechanical Engineering. The search for the new dean, vice chancellor and director is expected to be completed within the next few weeks.
